We are in the middle of our week in Kruger National Park, and let me tell you, today we saw a crocodile, a HUGE group of elephants, so so close to us, a bunch of hippos hanging out in the water, and many a giraffe and zebra, plus so many more I can't even remember. We are on the look out for all of the big cats and rhino. Fingers crossed!! I am a huge fan of Africa. In two days we fly to Livingstone, Zambia and then on to my friend's school outside of Lusaka. SO EXCITING! I'll post pictures soon. I hope you're having a fraction of the fun Analee and I are having!

Hello from Durban

Just a quick hello, we are on our way to the beach, my first time seeing the Indian Ocean, so crazy! I must say, the people of South Africa are among the kindest and friendliest I have ever experienced! Africa: I am a fan!!!

the power of positive thinking.

Ok, friends, I need you to rally together and think happy, positive thoughts about the whole volcano ending so that the airspace over Europe can clear up enough to let flights in and out. If it doesn't, my fun month long jaunt to Africa and London is I've been thinkin' and prayin' and wishin' and hopin' for myself and for all of our friends stranded at airports all over. Please, please join me!!

Saturday Night at home.

Not feeling very well, I opted to stay in this evening and tape off our entryway for painting, and went page by page through Martha Stewart's Encyclopedia of Sewing and Fabric Crafts: Basic Techniques for Sewing, Applique, Embroidery, Quilting, Dyeing, and Printing, plus 150 Inspired Projects from A to Z. Delightful.

Stay tuned for the after of our entry. I've been busy for a few weeks making moulding, and it should be pretty good. So excited!

an open letter to vanity fair.

I just wanted to say I was beginning to doubt you as of late. When one of your covers this year was Tiger Woods, and then Michael Douglas, I thought, what is happening to the VF I know and love? Well, that all changed today as I got VF in the mail and saw my main object of obsession - Grace Kelly - on the cover. I tore off the plastic and flipped directly to page 182 and read the article - not the best, but it is way better than the drivel on Tiger's mistresses a few pages before. While you're still a little bit trashy these days, I feel like you're headed in the right direction. So, let's dump all of this coverage on crazy Tiger Woods and Kristen Stewart and get back to celebrities that people (i.e. me) care about.

Best regards,

Five things I love Friday!!

1. I have watched this video a few times, and it has gotten me so psyched for the return of Glee next week!! I love that show!

2. I love, love wall paper. And I have become moderately obsessed with Lulu DK's wallpapers, like this gorgeous one:

3. My dear friend, Sara Vranes. She is always crusading for one cause or another to benefit humanity. Her latest, If 1,000 people join this group, Brandon Stone will cut his ponytail! is well worth checking out.

Clearly, this fbook group needs supporters, stat! Please join the fight against horrible hair!

4. This photo from Simply Grove. Oh my gosh!!! How cute are these kids?

5. Nars' eyeshadow duo in Paris.
Last night after hopping from makeup counter to makeup counter at Nordstrom then Sephora with Shara, I found the perfect grey eyeshadow. And of course, convinced Shara she had to try out some Laura Mercier. Oh, makeup is so fun!!!

What are you loving today?
